Julia Ionescu is a rising star on the tennis court from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her love for the sport began at a summer tennis camp for kids. She knew tennis was her sport from the moment she began playing and entering competitions. Several years later, due to her talent, hard work, and dedication to the sport, she ranks second for Under 14 tennis players in the province.

Julia’s focus extends beyond the tennis court. Not only has she been named Elite Athlete of the Year at her school, but she has also earned the distinction of Honours Student several years in a row. A typical day in the life of Julia includes early morning tennis practice, followed by a full day of school, with another session of fitness training and tennis practice after. She’ll finish her day by completing homework and spending time with her family and dog.

A champion on and off the court, Julia’s kindness and compassion are revealed in the causes that matter most to her, including anti-discrimination, animal welfare, and universal access to childhood education. When she isn’t training or playing tennis, Julia enjoys other activities, such as skiing, hiking, travelling, and reading. When asked where she would most like to travel, she would answer either Dubai or Australia.
